Do you want to make your own delicious pastry? Are you searching for unique and tasty sweet? Do you want to experience Middle Eastern cuisine, culture, and habits? Are you looking for fun and socializing? Whichever option you’d like - You are in the right place! Come and make your own Shakarbura with Lazzat_by_Aytan.

Shakarbura is an Azerbaijan National Pastry made of half-crispy half-soft dough, with nut, hazel-nut, or almond filling and sugar with a subtle cardamom aroma. Shakarbura is considered a handcrafted pastry as it is sealed with a pattern of stitches. The patterns that are made on it with a special type of decoration tweezers, called maggash, make Shakarbura really special. Although there are special traditional decorations for Shakarbura, simple patterns, such as trees, flowers, and even names can be made too.

Making the Shakarbura is a job that requires care and patience. So if you want to make your own Shakarbura with your own pattern ideas, you are welcome to the kitchen of Lazzat_by_Aytan!

About the host

Hi! I am Aytan. I’m 31 years old and was born in Baku, Azerbaijan. Since a few years, I am living in Tallinn, a cozy capital of Estonia with clean air and a relaxed vibe. I Have Sweet Tooth. There is not a single day that I do not eat some sweet, pastry, or any dessert. For me, cooking and baking are meditations that keep balance and clarity to your mental and emotional needs. When I am in my kitchen surrounded myself by different products, I have time to be with myself, with my thoughts during this process. At the same time, it is a great opportunity to spend time and to share your food with your friends and family members after the process is finished. I also like to experience and learn about other different countries' cultures, traditions and cuisines. Learning about other cultures allows me to move outside me own bubble, and find new ways of thinking, and to gain new friends. After experiencing different cultures I learned the best lesson of all: that we’re really not all that different.
